Toastmasters Leadership Institute -What, Where, How & Why

Toastmasters Leadership Institute (TLI) is an approximately 3 to 5-hour educational training about public speaking, communication and leadership topics on a Saturday morning twice per year during the Summer and Winter that is offered by local Toastmasters Districts/Divisions. It consists of a light continental breakfast, an opening ceremony/keynote speaker, various 45-minute elective sessions, mandatory club officer training, and a closing ceremony. Raffle tickets are usually sold during the opening and closing ceremonies.

The educational sessions are led by volunteer presenters who are the most experienced Toastmasters in our district. Division Directors organize TLI trainings for a nominal cost if in-person ($10 to $15) or for free if online. There are usually 3 TLI trainings in in the tri-county area of Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach on different Saturday mornings to make possible to fit into your schedule.

Since Toastmasters meetings are not instructional and are mostly dedicated to practicing learned techniques, TLI is an opportunity to learn and strengthen your knowledge of relevant topics from more experienced Toastmasters. You will be able to network and meet Toastmasters from other clubs and District officers who can be resources and collaborators in the future.
Each TLI event offers a different mix of educational sessions depending on availability of presenters.
You might have the opportunity to attend sessions about:
